Tara Darbyshire
Tara Darbyshire is a co-founder of SmartSuite and its EVP of Strategic Accounts. She leads the company's work with its largest customers and strategic partners, directing enterprise sales opportunities and alliances and working across product, sales and customer success to help risk, compliance and audit leaders replace spreadsheets, legacy GRC systems and point tools with one connected platform. She has been part of SmartSuite's go-to-market leadership since 2021, first as Chief Revenue Officer.
In 2000 Tara and her husband, Jon Darbyshire, co-founded Archer Technologies in Overland Park, Kansas, and for ten years she was its Executive Vice President of Business Development and Sales. She was instrumental in securing the company's earliest contracts and its early wins in financial services as Archer grew into one of the first enterprise governance, risk and compliance (GRC) platforms. By the time EMC Corporation agreed to acquire the company in January 2010, Archer served 25 of the Fortune 100. After the sale she co-founded the Archer Foundation, whose programs supported single mothers, women in underserved communities and young adults leaving foster care, and which invested in early-stage companies in the Kansas City region. Before Archer she was National Director of Sales for EY's Information Security practice and held sales leadership roles at PSE&G and MCI Telecommunications.
Tara holds a BBA in marketing and finance from Seton Hall University. She founded the Women of NoCode community for women building careers with no-code tools, mentors women in technology through the Executive Women's Forum, Carnegie Mellon University's Information Networking Institute and the Women's Employment Network, and writes about enterprise GRC adoption, strategic partnerships and the path for women into technology careers.
