Walker Forehand

Walker has served as a general partner since Canapi’s establishment in 2018. In this capacity, he is responsible for sourcing and executing new investment opportunities and leading the firm’s day-to-day operations. Walker led Canapi’s investments into Alloy, Middesk, Built, Fireblocks, NeuroID (exited to Experian), Blooma, and SmartSuite.

Before joining Canapi, Walker served as a managing director and chief investment officer at SpringHarbor, a private investment holding company. While at SpringHarbor, Walker invested in leading fintech companies including Coinbase, Nova Credit, and Greenlight Financial. Walker was also one of the earliest angel investors in nCino (ticker: NCNO).

Prior to SpringHarbor, Walker was the head of corporate development and strategy for Promontory Financial Group, one of the world’s leading advisors to financial institutions and fintechs. During his eight years with the firm, he served as Chief of Staff to founder and CEO Gene Ludwig, advised more than 100 financial institutions and fintechs, and was actively involved in the company’s successful sale to IBM in 2016.

Before joining PFG, Walker was a principal investor at Hovde Private Equity Advisors and Hovde Capital Advisors LLC, a family of financial services-focused private equity and hedge funds. Walker earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia. He is a CFA® charterholder.
