Industry reference
The GRI Standards, ISSB IFRS S1 and S2 and the ESRS under CSRD define the disclosure line items; SASB standards (now under the ISSB) give sector metrics. CSRD requires limited assurance, with ISAE 3000 and the IAASB's ISSA 5000 (2024) as the assurance standards, so every data point needs traceable evidence.
Jurisdictional rules set the deadlines: CSRD for large EU and EU-listed companies, California's SB 253 and SB 261 for large companies doing business in the state, SFDR for EU financial market participants and stock-exchange rules in Hong Kong, Singapore and elsewhere. Public bodies increasingly align voluntary reports to the same frameworks.
