Frequently Asked
Questions

What are the program Requirements?

You have already established successful practices around other SaaS products and you independent software vendor.

What are SmartSuite Technology Partners?

SmartSuite Technology Partners are leading software and infrastructure providers that integrate directly with the SmartSuite Work Management Platform to enhance productivity, automation, and data connectivity. Partners include companies like Google, Microsoft, Slack, Twilio, and AWS, as well as integration platforms like Make.com and Zapier.

How do SmartSuite integrations work?

Integrations connect SmartSuite with your existing tools — enabling seamless data flow across email, chat, files, calendars, CRMs, and more. Through our Automations engine, users can create trigger-based workflows (for example, when a Gmail message arrives, create a record in SmartSuite) without writing code.

Do I need to be a developer to use SmartSuite integrations?

Not at all. SmartSuite’s no-code integration builder allows business users to connect systems visually. For advanced use cases, developers can use Webhooks and Custom Scripting Actions to extend functionality or build deeper integrations.

What types of integrations are available today?

SmartSuite supports both native integrations (direct connections like Slack, Gmail, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, HubSpot, Jira Cloud, Salesforce, and more) and open integrations through Make.com and Zapier, which connect SmartSuite to over 6,000 applications.

How do I become a SmartSuite Technology Partner?

Technology providers can apply through our Partner Application Form. Our partnerships team reviews fit based on product category, security posture, and customer demand. Approved partners receive API documentation, listing opportunities, and joint go-to-market support.

Is there an API available for custom integrations?

Yes. SmartSuite offers a secure, REST-based Public API designed for developers building custom apps, extensions, or integrations. Full documentation, authentication details, and usage limits are available in our Developer Portal.

Does SmartSuite support Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity integrations?

Yes. SmartSuite supports SSO via Google, Microsoft, and Apple, as well as SAML 2.0 for enterprise identity providers. Two-Factor Authentication and IP-based access restrictions are available in Professional and Enterprise plans.

How does SmartSuite ensure data security with integrations?

Security is foundational to SmartSuite. All integrations must use encrypted connections (TLS 1.2+), scoped OAuth permissions, and are covered under SmartSuite’s SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance frameworks. No third-party integration has direct database access.

Can SmartSuite connect to on-premise systems or private data sources?

Yes. Enterprise customers can use Custom Connectors or secure Webhooks to integrate with on-prem systems, data warehouses, or proprietary APIs. SmartSuite also supports regional data-center routing for EU customers.

How are integration failures or errors handled?

SmartSuite’s Automations dashboard includes real-time monitoring, error logs, and retry logic. Admins are notified automatically when a connection fails or requires re-authentication.

What’s the difference between a Technology Partner and a Solution Partner?
  • Technology Partners integrate software or infrastructure directly with SmartSuite.
  • Solution Partners (consulting or implementation firms) help customers design, deploy, and optimize SmartSuite for their business needs.
  • Both are essential parts of the SmartSuite ecosystem.
How can I stay updated on new integrations?

All new partner integrations and API enhancements are announced in the SmartSuite Changelog and monthly “What’s New” webinars. You can also subscribe to our Partner Newsletter for updates and co-marketing opportunities.
