Although MetricStream’s pricing is not disclosed on their website, I was still able to find some numbers and verified user reviews to help you determine whether it’s the right tool for your needs.
In this guide, I’ll discuss MetricStream’s pricing structure, covering how they calculate their pricing and including reported numbers.
➡️ I’ll also introduce you to a MetricStream alternative that has a more affordable pricing structure, is quick to set up, and has premium customer support without having to pay 6 figures a year.
How Does MetricStream Calculate Its Pricing?
MetricStream’s platform is divided into multiple solutions, such as governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and Audit Management.

The platform calculates its pricing based on 4 factors:
- Based on the modules (applications) that you’ll need.
- The number and type of users (e.g., administrators vs. view-only auditors).
- The customer support that you’ll need.
- The implementation (one-time cost).
Based on what I was able to find, it seems like MetricStream works with annual contracts only, with discounts for longer contracts.
One more factor that you should take into consideration is that MetricStream is going to charge you for the creation of custom reports since you’d have to request it from them, according to a review from Capterra.

‘’Customized reports will have to be requested from the vendor and usually incur a cost.’’ – Capterra Review.
➡️ The tool also lets you deploy the software on-premises or in the cloud, which is what separates it from other competitors on the market.
Does MetricStream Have A Free Plan Or A Free Trial?
MetricStream does not offer a free plan, and there’s no free trial, despite some platforms claiming that it has.
The solution is fully custom, and you’ll have to pay for it to use it.
How Much Does MetricStream Really Cost?
MetricStream’s price ranges vary, as the platform can cost from $75,000 up to $1,000,000/year based on insider information from SC Media.
The way it works is that MetricStream’s solutions are bundled (you only pay for what you need) and quoted alongside the deployment cost.
The pricing for the GRC solution depends on the specific apps and modules that you’ll need (you only pay for what you need) as well as the admin seats that you’d require, which can cost between $200 - $2,500 per user per app.
According to the insider information:
- Small enterprise deployment costs between $75,000 - $150,000 per year.
- Medium enterprise deployment costs between $250,000 - $500,000 per year.
- Large enterprise deployment can cost between $750,000 - $1,000,000 per year.
On top of that cost will be the implementation service, which costs around $50,000 for Audit Management as a one-time fee, according to MetricStream themselves.

What they also reveal is that you can expect the license for Audit Management to be approximately $100,000 for the license (one-time cost), with about $20,000 annual cost for support and maintenance.
➡️ From that table from MetricStream, we can see that for their Audit Management plan, you’ll have to only pay the license fee and set up costs, and then from year 2 on, you’ll only have to pay about $20,000 a year for the support and maintenance of it.
Lastly, the last number that I was able to find, insider info from Sprinto, reveals that their contract with MetricStream is for $180,000/year for a 36-month term.
Does MetricStream Provide Good Value for Money?
There are customers of MetricStream who do not believe the tool has good value for money due to its lack of flexibility, high cost, and unreliable customer service.
A verified user of MetricStream claims that the implementation of the solution can take too long, and their 9-5 support is not always available, even though you’ll pay upwards of 5 figures a year for it.
The review also goes over the fact that it’s difficult to customize the software and that the user interface can be hard to navigate and could use some improvements.

‘’The implementation takes too long, and 9 to 5 support is not always available. Because the tool works with a 1 size fits all approach, although some customization is possible, most of the time, it is hard to customize to align with the industry standard. The UI could use a lot of improvement as right now it is sometimes hard to navigate.’’ – G2 Review.
Looking For A MetricStream Alternative?
People have been looking for MetricStream alternatives not only due to the expensive pricing of the solution, but also because the platform offers a lack of executive dashboards with limited functionality of charts and graphs.

‘’Lack of availability of executive dashboards, especially in the Compliance/Survey module. Limited functionality of charts and graphs.’’ – Capterra Review.
