Session Timeout Settings — See and Revoke Every Active Session
Review every active login's browser, device, location, and IP—and terminate sessions on demand, so a forgotten laptop, a departing employee, or a compromised device never keeps quiet access to your work.
What Is Session Timeout Settings?
Session Timeout Settings is SmartSuite's session-control capability: every Member can review and terminate their own active login sessions through My Active Sessions, and administrators can view and reset Member sessions across the workspace through Session Management. It helps security and IT teams cut off lingering access on demand—lost devices, shared machines, and offboarded accounts included. Session controls are available on all SmartSuite plans.
Self-Service Control
Review and Terminate Your Own Active Sessions
My Active Sessions shows every login currently open under your account—browser, operating system, approximate geographic location, and IP address for each. Anything unfamiliar, or anything left open on another machine, can be terminated remotely on the spot.
The only session you cannot end is the one you are using—so cleanup never cuts you off mid-work.
Admin Session Management
Reset Member Sessions Across the Workspace
Session Management extends the same control to administrators: view Members' session and login information workspace-wide and reset sessions when security requires it—a compromised device, a policy violation, or an offboarding that has to take effect immediately.
Combined with deactivating the account, a session reset ends access now, not whenever the old login would have expired on its own.
Session Timeout Settings
Access control doesn't end at login--sessions persist on devices long after the moment of authentication. Session controls give governed teams the means to audit active sessions and end them, with the trail access reviews expect.
As part of the offboarding control, an administrator resets a departing employee's active sessions the moment HR confirms the exit—no waiting for logins to age out on personal devices, and a clean answer at the next access review.
A Member who left a laptop signed in at a client site opens My Active Sessions from another device and terminates that session remotely—closing the exposure before it becomes a reportable incident.
Security spots a session from an unexpected location and IP. An administrator resets the Member's sessions, forces re-authentication, and the incident record documents the response.
During recurring access reviews, Members verify their own session lists and administrators sweep workspace sessions—turning stale-session cleanup into a documented, repeatable control.
Pair session controls with Audit Logs: logged login activity with source IPs and timestamps identifies the suspicious session, and Session Management ends it.

SmartSuite's session controls work on two levels: My Active Sessions lets every Member review and terminate their own logins, and Session Management lets administrators view and reset Member sessions across the workspace.
Each active session's browser, operating system, approximate geographic location, and IP address. Members can terminate any session remotely except the one they are currently using.
Yes. Session Management gives administrators workspace-level visibility into Member sessions and the ability to reset them—used for offboarding, compromised devices, and security incidents.
SmartSuite's documented session controls center on visibility and on-demand revocation—reviewing sessions and terminating them—rather than a configured expiry timer. For requirements around fixed session durations, contact SmartSuite support to discuss your security configuration.
Resetting a departing Member's sessions ends their access immediately on every device, instead of leaving logins alive until they expire. Paired with account deactivation or SCIM deprovisioning, offboarding takes effect in minutes.
Session monitoring and reset capabilities are available on all SmartSuite plans, per the pricing page's Session Management listing.
