Views Sidebar — Every View in the Table, One Click Away
Navigate all of a Table's Views and Folders from one left-hand panel—favorites pinned on top, private views kept personal, and locked views protecting the reports that matter.
What Is Views Sidebar?
Views Sidebar—documented in the SmartSuite help center as the View Panel—is the left-side navigation panel within a Table that lists all of its Views and Folders. It gives every Member quick, organized access to switch between Grid, Card, Kanban, Calendar, Timeline, Map, Chart, Dashboard, Form, and Gantt Views, with favorites, private views, and search built in. It is part of SmartSuite's Views system.
Organized Navigation
Organize Views into Favorites, Public, Private, and Folders
The sidebar structures a Table's views the way teams actually use them: a My Favorites folder pinned at the top, Public Views managed by Solution Managers, My Private Views visible only to their creator, and custom Folders grouping related views together. Star a view and it pins to your favorites—your five daily views stop competing with the fifty occasional ones.
Adaptive Layout
Expand for Navigation, Collapse for Focus
Run the sidebar Expanded at a drag-adjustable width, or Collapsed to reclaim the screen—it auto-expands on hover, so other views stay one glance away. The mode you choose persists per user across the entire workspace, regardless of which Table or Solution you open next.
View Management
Search, Reorder, Rename, and Lock Views in Place
Search views by name, drag them into a new order, rename, duplicate, or delete them, and toggle view descriptions—all governed by permissions, with reordering requiring Full Access. On Professional and Enterprise plans, locking a view restricts who can access or edit it, so the report the CFO reads every Monday can't be quietly reshaped on Friday.
Views Sidebar
As GRC Solutions grow, views multiply. The Views Sidebar keeps dozens of saved lenses navigable, personal where they should be, and protected where they must be.
The risk team keeps register, treatment, and reporting views public and ordered, while each analyst stars a personal favorites set—everyone lands on the right lens without hunting.
A Solution Manager locks the quarterly compliance views so their filters and groupings can't drift—the numbers leadership reviews are built on views nobody reshaped mid-quarter.
A risk analyst builds exploratory views under My Private Views, refining filters and groupings, then promotes the finished view to the public section when it's ready for the team.
An auditor collapses the sidebar while working through a long evidence queue, hovering to peek at the testing calendar between items—full screen for the review, one hover for the context.
Pair the Views Sidebar with Folders—group quarterly reporting views into named folders with their own visibility rules, and keep a hundred-view workspace navigable.

The Views Sidebar—documented in the help center as the View Panel—is the left-side navigation panel within a Table listing all of its Views and Folders. It covers every View type: Grid, Card, Kanban, Calendar, Timeline, Map, Chart, Dashboard, Form, and Gantt.
Starring a view pins it to the My Favorites folder, which sits permanently at the top of the panel. Favorites are personal—each Member curates their own set.
Views under My Private Views are visible only to their creator—a personal working space for building and refining views before sharing them publicly. A private-view autosave toggle is also available.
Yes. The panel runs Expanded (drag-adjustable width) or Collapsed (auto-expands on hover), toggled from the arrow at its top-right. Your chosen mode persists across the whole workspace per user.
On Professional and Enterprise plans, locking a view restricts who can access or edit it—protecting critical reports and shared views from accidental changes.
Base View Panel functionality is available on all plans. View Folders and Locked Views require Professional or Enterprise plans.
Never Hunt for the Right View Again
Favorites on top, folders for the rest, and locks on what matters—your views, organized the way you work.
