What Is SmartDoc AI Copilot?
SmartDoc AI Copilot is an AI writing assistant built into SmartSuite's SmartDoc rich-text field. It generates, edits, summarizes, and refines content directly inside a document—working from predefined quick prompts, custom instructions, and live Record data referenced with {{Field Name}} variables. The capability is listed on all current SmartSuite plans, every workspace includes up to 200 free AI requests, and it works anywhere SmartDocs do.

Generate Content Without Leaving the Record
Type "/" and select Ask AI—or press the spacebar on a blank line—to open the assistant inside any SmartDoc. Pick a quick-start prompt for outlines, blog posts, press releases, or brainstormed ideas, or write a fully custom instruction, and the draft streams straight into the document.
Post-generation controls keep you in charge: continue writing, rewrite shorter, rewrite longer, or discard and try again.
Record Context
Personalize Drafts with Live Field Data
Prompts can reference other fields on the same Record using {{Field Name}} syntax, so generated content reflects the specific company, contact, incident, or control the document belongs to—not a generic template. One prompt produces record-specific output across an entire Table.
Because the context comes from structured Fields, the writing stays consistent with the data your team already governs.
