The Idea Exchange: Where Customers Shape Our Product Roadmap

At SmartSuite, we strive to be fully-transparent with our product roadmap with our current customers and the public alike. We created our public Idea Exchange to gather our customers’ valuable input and establish a SmartSuite community to help us continue developing relevant, customer-inspired features.

You can access the Idea Exchange through the SmartSuite Help Panel by clicking on the Intercom messenger bubble at the lower right corner of your home page or account page:

Not only can you find detailed help articles and submit a support ticket, but you can help shape how our product evolves by posting new feature requests or interacting with existing ones.

This exchange offers an option to enter new requests, explore the active list, vote on the features you are interested in, and receive status updates for each requested feature.

Before suggesting a new feature, see what’s new or trending and be sure to see if someone has already submitted the idea - great minds think alike after all!

You can use the search bar to browse by category, making it easy to locate existing feature requests. If you don’t see what you are looking for, we encourage you to participate in our community and post your own ideas. Your input and involvement is what drives our development focus.

To request a new feature, simply click on the + sign to add the request, select the appropriate category, and give your request a title and short description.

If you request or even vote on another feature and its status changes, you will be directly notified. Our goal is to ensure that our customers are involved in every stage of feature design and development.

Each status has a particular meaning in the feature request process.

  • The “Open” status confirms that your specific request has been submitted.
  • When it changes to “In Review,” it means we are evaluating and prioritizing this feature and its potential implementation.
  • When approved, the feature moves to “Planned” status and directly into our product roadmap.
  • “In Process” indicates that developers are already hard at work on the feature.
  • Finally, the “Complete” status confirms that this feature is now publicly available to SmartSuite users.

You can view just the ideas you requested, or through master view of our product roadmap, you are able to see the progress of all requests in the pipeline and their status.

The Idea Exchange creates an opportunity to continuously improve SmartSuite and directly involve our customers in the development of product features. We’ll communicate directly with you through this channel to ensure we understand your requests, ask you for input along the way and verify that we understand your specific use case and desired functionality.

This community is here for the entire SmartSuite community, and the Idea Exchange is an expression of our dedicated focus on product transparency and customer-inspired development.
